Jo Klein, Data & Visualization Librarian, has been accepted to participate in the GIS Librarians for Open Workflows (GLOW) Forum. Klein will join a cohort of librarians discussing the workflows of librarians and library staff supporting geographic information systems. Conversations will center on concrete examples from social justice, health, and infrastructure application areas to inform shared vocabularies and practices.

Mara Blake (Head, DVS) is part of a team to receive a one-year grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Blake, along with Rachel Levy (DSA) and Emily Griffith (Department of Statistics and DSA), will host a series of meetings and a culminating workshop to develop and share models and best practices for data science consulting in higher education. This work, in collaboration with the Academic Data Science Alliance, will directly inform active, broader, and cross-disciplinary discussions on how to build and sustain data science support infrastructure at academic institutions.
